Artist Statement
I visualize personal myths of an immigrant's mind, where the confusion of identifying one’s self within the alien takes the form of a semi-abstraction as mental processing. This mind becomes a newly generated visual science fiction that reproduces itself and regenerates through analysis. The sciences and fiction inform my mapping of a migratory space of parallel worlds. These worlds could be as small as nanobots in a blood stream and remote as spaceships in the space roads. It could be me experiencing different cultural legacies at the same time...
I am interested in the process of painting itself. My paintings emerge out of random spills of paint. I want the field grow more complex. So, I intuitively overlap layers of acrylic ink paint interacting with linear gestures. I see my paintings as hybrids of painting and drawing, as well.
